All dogs—puppies, adults, past, or present—are invited to join the fun. We’ve got tons of prizes lined up, and the best part? You can submit multiple entries! Here’s how it works:
Unleash your creativity and ensure your pup is comfortable in the Halloween costume, whether homemade or store-bought. We cannot wait to see your dogs in their Halloween gear.
A reminder: Humans are not allowed in the photos, but you can submit up to five photos per person (separately). Don’t forget to check out the easy-to-follow rules and our fantastic sponsors, who offer over $1,000 in prizes!
Here’s how it works, PLUS some inspiration for costume ideas. This year, we are also giving away a prize for the best dog in a festive bandana, leash, or collar in case your pup isn’t fond of wearing costumes.

The 14th annual Fidose of Reality Halloween photo contest for dogs starts now, October 5, 2023, and all entries must be submitted using the form below. If you follow along by liking our Facebook page and you can see all the entries as they are submitted each day.
When Does The 2024 Dog Halloween Photo Contest Close?
Our 14th annual Halloween photo contest officially closes on Monday, October 28, 2024, at 11:59 amET.
How Are Dog Halloween Photos Judged?
Fidose of Reality’s independent panel of three judges will pick FIFTEEN winners who enter the contest.

You must be the owner of the dog or dogs in the photos. Dogs must not be in harm’s way. Don’t make your dog dress up if they don’t want to, please. Dogs who don’t like to dress up can wear a festive leash or bandanna and pose with pumpkins, decorations, etc.
FUN FACT: There are no LIKES or votes required for this contest. Celebrate!

Can I Alter Or Photoshop My Photos In Any Way?
No photoshopping, please. Any photoshopped photos will be disqualified. We want originality! You can watermark but that’s it. DO NOT SEND PHOTOS WITH TEXT ON THEM NOR PHOTOS WITH PEOPLE IN THEM. A WATERMARK IS OKAY, BUT ANY PHOTOS WITH TEXT ON THEM WILL BE OTHERWISE DISQUALIFIED.
Hint: Don’t submit photos you entered in previous years.
Can Humans Be In the Photo?
No, there can be NO humans in the photo. Any photos that include people whether or adults or kids, will be disqualified.
Can My Dog’s Friends And Family Enter?
Yes! You can submit FIVE entries per person, please. Additional entries beyond the first FIVE will be disqualified.
How Do I Know If I Won the Halloween Photo Contest for Dogs?
Winners will be notified and have 48 hours to respond. Winners will be revealed on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, in this post and through email.
Winners must provide their name and mailing address for prize fulfillment. Winners who fail to respond within 48 hours of winning will be disqualified and the runner-up will be selected.
You must be 18 years or older to enter.
Can International Dog Parents Enter?
Yes, the prize pack for International members is listed below.
All winning images will appear across our social media channels and you provide us with permission to share your entries on social media and add you to our email list. We never sell names or email addresses. See rules below.

Can I Enter Photos I’ve Submitted In Years Past?
It is not recommended that you send photos from the past. If they didn’t win the first time, try again with a new image!
